Early forties, happily single, no children - but a pup and kittycat. Most of my professional work has been in healthcare. I live more North than 80% of Canadians, but am in the U.S. Penpals for long Winters will help maintain sanity. :)
I enjoy: •wilderness & natural beauty (think snow: autumn, night sky, moon, trees) •flowers •science •tea & coffee •art (incl watercolor, knitting) •hygge •dogs I'm particularly interested in meeting some long term international pen pal's to learn about other cultures. Cards I would like to receive - anything bright, cozy, whimsical, artistic, intelligent. Some more interests: •Stardew Valley •snow sports (snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country/downhill skiing) •bicycling (interested in "bikepacking" •books (will do paper, Kindle and audiobooks) •string music •pottery •jigsaw puzzles •chocolate •quilling •jewelry (including making my own with beads and leather cord) •flavors that pair well together •gardening •plants •outside-of-the-box thinking.
Dislikes - childish items, cartoons (except Daria, haha, shout out to the elder millennials),quick judgements, super girly stuff with too much pink (I'm a bit of a tomboy).
Recently I've started a few different meet-up-in-person groups because I feel like I'm missing a sense of community in my current life. I created 3 different groups. One is an outdoor low-key group. Another is a jigsaw puzzle swap group, as a thrifty way to enjoy the hobby and socialize a bit. The third and one I think you all will be most interested in - a pen pal group! I'm teaching people how to get into it, even though I'm quite new to it myself but thoroughly enjoy and am so thrilled to have found this resource (swap-bot). I'm hoping to be able to create my own swaps in future but there are so many options, it's not really even necessary. A few things from my bucket list: & actually, this seems like a good time to mention the last thing I checked off of it. I learned how to drive a dirtbike this Summer (2026). One of the top things on my bucket list (and is a little absurd I haven't yet accomplished, or maybe I have but it was small-scale and I'm looking for magic) is to see the Northern Lights! I want to take a scenic train ride, ideally internationally but I would be totally thrilled with a ride in the U.S., too. What's on yours?
